2022 PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Dear AIA Amarillo,
We have an exciting year in store!
This year we will hold our AIA Shoot to raise money for our Scholarship fund. We’ve had such success with this event in the past that at our last quarterly chapter meeting we were able to raise our scholarship amount to $3,000, which includes the AIA matching grants, to support a student pursuing architecture in a NAAB Accredited school. In 2021 Grace Ann Shanks, a student at Texas Tech University, was the scholarship recipient. I hope you will register to participate in our shoot and spread the word to anyone and everyone! This is an outreach event where we encourage our friends, colleagues, and others in the AEC industry to participate
Please consider volunteering for a committee this year. We are need for volunteers to serve on the Shoot committee. Please reach out to Spence Lynch if you are willing to volunteer.
In 2022 we are going through the accreditation process. We shared the core member services requirements with chapter members via email. Please let me know if you know of any opportunities that we can share with AIA Amarillo or if you engage in any activities that contribute to our core member services.
Let Clifton Petty know if you have any content that you would like to be placed on our website and share information you’d like to be published in a future newsletter with Amber Buscarello.
We are striving to increase the number of members in our chapter. If you have a colleague who is not an AIA member, please encourage them to join!
I would like to invite each of you to attend our quarterly meetings. We have some members that we haven’t seen at meetings in a long time, so I hope you will engage with us.
Wendy Massie, RA, AIA
